“Whoever receives you receives Me, and whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me.”— Matthew 10:40
In Matthew 10, Jesus sends out His twelve disciples with a mission: to proclaim that the kingdom of heaven is near. But He also warns them that following Him will not be easy. They will face rejection, opposition, and even persecution. Yet in every challenge, Jesus promises to be with them.
Being a disciple means being sent. Wherever we go, we carry Christ’s message and love. When we speak His Word, show mercy, or offer forgiveness, He is working through us. Jesus assures His followers that even a small act done in His name—a cup of cold water given to one of His disciples—will not go unnoticed by the Father.
Our calling today is the same: to live as His sent people, confident that He goes with us, and that His Word bears fruit in ways we may never fully see.
